Sitting baby photos
When we have a sitting baby that usually means it’s time for a second Watch Me Grow Photoshoot.
Typically a sitting baby would be around 7 or 8 months old.
This is one of absolute favourite stages to photograph as you can tell from some of our images.
Sitting comfortably
A sitting baby is usually a happy baby. They are normally pretty content and a pleasure to photograph. Sometimes they are a little bit wobbly but we can work around that.
Christening and baptism outfits
When babies are able to sit is also roughly the time many of them are Christened. The second stage Watch Me Grow sessions are a perfect time to get some lovely images in those outfits.
Great expressions
8 month old babies have the best expressions. They are also far more reactive than younger babies so they make fantastic subjects to photograph.
Fun outfits
We like to have fun in the studio which is why we have a supply of crazy outfits to hand.
Along with right clothes bring along those silly costumes and sessional outfits you just had to buy!
Photos with siblings
When we have a sitting baby it makes it far easier to get a really photo with an older sibling. This stage is much better than younger and older babies.
Almost crawling
As soon as they start crawling it’s all over! Time to properly baby proof the house and hide away those cables.
Joking aside, it’s an important milestone to photograph.
Perfect age for framed photos
We are often asked “when is the best age to photograph babies?” I always say that a sitting baby is best. This is not just because you can get some great pictures but theirs images look great framed.
Babies in pumpkins
We started Babies in Pumpkins in the Halloween of 2014 as a bit of a joke. Since then it’s become an annual photoshoot we’re known for.
It really is as much fun as it looks.
Family pictures
It’s surprising how many people have a sitting baby but still haven’t got a good family picture. This age is ideal for family pictures, there’s so much interaction and the babies don’t run away.
Simple props
It can be fun adding lots of different outfits and props but sometimes less is more. We have some very nice simple props in the studio which we use.
In the buff
These are the pictures you use to embarrass them when they are older. Joking aside they are very cute pictures when tastefully done, especially with a sitting baby.
