Why would you want your photos printed for free?
350 Million photos are uploaded to Facebook every day, with 14.58 million photo uploads per hour, 243,000 photo uploads per minute, and 4,000 photo uploads per second. That sounds a lot but you divide that between the 2.5 billion users that actually works about as 51 images per year per person.
That is still an image a week that people are sharing with 300 of their closest friends. They can’t all be Tiger King memes. Some those pictures must be important to the person who posted it. It’s also a fraction of the pictures that people take on their phones.
A 2015 study showed that the average person has 630 person on their phone. I imagine this number is much higher in 2020. The average Japanese camera roll contains 1,500 photos and videos which is perhaps a step closer today’s number.
At the last count I have 8828 pictures on my iPhone. That’s 1000 pictures a year or roughly 3 pictures a day.
Whatever your number is today (I’m sure Apple now) I’m pretty sure that the large majority of people are not printing their photos. That would probably work out to be very expensive. Cloud storage means the days of losing photos on our phones might be disappearing but not completely. Cloud storage is fine but it’s not the safest way to store your photos. The best way we know is to have them printed. If I were to print all mine I’d need to find a way to have 1000 pictures printed a year for as cheap as possible. For that reason I’ve been looking for a solution.
But why would you want to print all your photos? The answer is that you wouldn’t, but if I could get those photos printed for free then I must consider it.

Get 2300 photos printed for free
I would certainly recommend using online print labs as opposed to high street printers. Amazingly simple printing from commercial labs is still fairly cheap. These days every print lab has its own app and they really want you to download it. They want you to download it so much they are willing to offer you the bribe of free photos in exchange. It’s not a bad marketing idea and one I’m more than happy to take advantage of.
I have compiled a list of apps you can download to get your photos printed for free.
